Using Technology to change recycling behaviors in public spaces

CLIENT: University of Delaware

Over 60% of the trash that ends in the garbage at the University of Delaware could be recycled. Some people recycle because they want to, and others do it because they are pushed to do so.

We proposed interactive recycling bins and app sysytem to engage and reward users who recycle. When someone recycles, the leaves on the bin light up green and the tree blooms to life to show how simple actions can make big changes.
